Hi I am a Syrian Orthodox Christian from kerala. Iam in love with a hindu boy for the past 8 years. We would like to get married according to both customs. One of my friend got married like that from a roman catholic church. But is that allowed in syrian orthodox churches?? -Soosan

    Hi Soosan,
    Eight years is a long time. Let us know how much are you committed for this relationship? If he declines to convert to Christianity or even decline to raise children as Christian, are you going to dump him? You have to decide if your love is important or your church.

    Syrian orthodox will want him convert to Christianity. Is he ready? Did he talk to his parents about you? Does he wants a Hindu wedding?

    Best solution is to get married by the Special Marriage Act and forget pandits, priest/pastor and the church. Is that possible for you two?
