Hello my name is sneha and I am from a orthodox brahmin household, and I’m currently studying engineering. Basically I’m a student. When I say orthodox brahmin family, you can imagine I’m deeply engaged in all hindu rituals followed in our house and I also faithfully followed them. But recently I am finding myself getting unnaturally attracted to islam.

Especially after I saw some zakir naik videos on YT. This thing has completely unsettled and disturbed me mentally as I am constantly feeling whether I am on wrong path following Hinduism and doing engineering. My family is very strict and even the thought of discussing with them about them is frightening to me. Inward i am started to feel to follow muslim customs. I want to wear burqa, hijab. We are strict vegetarians, but I want to eat meat. I want to become a devoted muslim wife. But I don’t understand how all this is possible. Now, even while doing puja my thoughts are somewhere else. I am finding puja meaningless now. All these things are mentally affecting. Is there any way. Plz guide. –Sneha

First thing, Mr jain. Muslims girls are not allowed to practice worship at mosque. Second thing, there’s no rule that to be a good Muslim you have eat meat. So Stop posting Bullshit here.

And Sneha, if you have faith in your religion then practice it as it was in your life. Islam don’t criticise any religion if you have good knowledge of quraan. You can even marry without converting to Islam. Its your choice to practice any religion. You can be an atheist though. Feel free to do anything and don’t ask answers to silly people who take these things as an insult to their religion. Even if you would be a muslim, I would have suggest you the same thing for any other religion. It’s your life, its your choice

Dear Sneha, I can understand your problem well.I am gonna tell you a real story. This same thing happened with my cousin sister. Her name was samiksha jain. She being a jain, was very religious in her childhood, she never had onions and garlic in her food. But in her teenage she told me that she started liking Islam and muslim people. She said that if not being born as a jain, she would love to be born as muslim girl. I didn’t took her seriously. But One day I noticed that she along with her muslim friends went to a masjid. She covered her head with a scarf. I was so surprised to see her. But at that time I couldn’t say anything to her. After that our religious days paryushan started . On that days we do a lot of pooja and all. We visit our mandir quite often.. We donot eat any types of vegetables and fruits for week. Just dals and all. I was quite surprised that I didn’t saw her in temple on any of the days. During that days i got to know from samiksha’s muslim friend insta photos that she had non vegetarian food along with her friends in a restaurant which completely serves non vegetarian food. I was shocked when in the photos I saw samiksha was holding leg piece in her hand and ate it. At that time also she covered her head with scarf. She was completely looking like a normal muslim girl. On that very day, I went to her house and asked about all that, firstly she was not accepting but later she did. She told me from the beginning when she got attracted to Islam. She started searching more about Islam online where she got all her answers one by one. She knew she would never get support from her family members. So she decided to convert to Islam on her own. She did it online through chat with islamreligion.com. she was in touch with her muslim friends. They all were really very supportive in her decision. They took her to the mosque and where they all offered prayers. It was her decision to never go to jain temples. she knew to be a good muslim she have to eat meat. To not being a jain any more and to become a good muslim, she decided to have non vegetarian food on the paryushan days. I was shocked with all she was saying. I asked your parents would be very upset on hearing this, they are already planning to get you married. She said she want nothing in life just being a good muslim. She said she want to wear burka, want to cook and eat meat and to have a muslim name. I said it is impossible. She then told me she had choosen a boy for her, named Muhammad Adil. Earlier she made him, her boyfriend only because he was a muslim, but later she started really liking her. She said that plz don’t tell it to anyone. I don’t know why I agreed. I had few meetings with her boyfriend, he was really a kind man. After a year she eloped with her boyfriend and had a nikah with him. She took some money from her home. She officially converted and took a name of aliya begum before her nikah.
Now after 4 years, I know they are happily married. They have a little daughter.
I told you all this, because you even had same type of attraction towards Islam. You can’t fulfill all your desire untill you are married to a muslim boy. It is just misconception that muslims had a lot of kids, their lifestyle is very poor. My sister have just one daughter and she is happily married.
So now it’s all your choice , do whatever you like. You had only one life. Live the fullest.

    Dear Sneha,
It is your age to explore the world, faiths and more. This is natural. Considering you are an intellectual, we would recommend to make decision that is right for you based on real facts.

If we use an analogy, if you are out buying a home, don’t get impressed by the flower display on a window of the house and decide to buy the house. Please make sure to check every corner of the home, including the basement of the home. If you find a misty smell there, get alarmed if there is any issue with the foundation of the home.

One question to you. Have you read the Koran from the first to the last page on your own? Understand it in totality and without help of an interpreter (meaning without being biased). Let us know what you found. Meantime, let us know what you liked and disliked about Hinduism and Islam. Let’s talk more.

Do focus on your studies and get the best education now. Life is long. Faith is a kind of thing that go up and down in life. So keep exploring it, but still keep education as a top priority. Best wishes.
