Brahmin dated a Jain but finally married to a Christian

Hello everyone from this site:

I am sharing my part of story which I may feel might be useful for many. So here it goes:

I (name changed) was born as a hindu Brahmin girl. But my parents were very open, educated and never tried to tie me into any religious boundaries. when I was 22, I was finishing my graduation and fell in love with a Jain guy. Everything started with flirting but we became serious for each other and we dated for 3.5 years. My jain-ex never introduced me to his parents but me being stupid introduced him to everyone in my family.. though he claimed that he will marry me, but he never did. So after 3 years I asked for his decision and he told me very clearly many a times that he doesn’t want to go against his parents will and his parents are old and they may die, if he marries me because he is a jain and I am hindu. I was feeling like an idiot and shed tears for almost one year. He married a girl of his community.. and I had no choice but to move on in my life , then at age 27, I shifted my base to Canada for doctorate and now I am 32, married to a French Canadian Christian pentacostal guy.

Me sharing my part of this life here is to encourage people not to fall into stupid religious hypocrisies, people marry who they desire to marry …

Not a single religion in this world has ever taught to break hearts, or break any individual emotionally, mentally ….

At least the great Jain religion, who are so careful not to hurt any small creatures, or roots, how come they never teach their children not to fall in love with non-jain follower girls or boys. and accidently if a jain falls in love with a non-jain… is it somewhere mentioned in the jain holy-scripts that they have the authority to break a non-jain individual completely (in all possible ways).

Sad but true, people who wants to get married they will get married because of God’s will and who doesn’t want to get married, they must not bring such religious indulgences in between. I find them disillusioned. Thank you and all the best to everyone for their search. -Ivory

Once I came here in Canada, I already lost my parents due to cancer and bad luck stuck me even further when I lost my face too in a car accident and at I had to go through ortho-plastic surgery. I recovered, left my country for good. Once I arrived here, I was extremengly sad and had become a victim of depression.

To recover from that, one of my soul-friend asked to visit the Baptist church, and I started believing in miracles of God and started saying thank you to God to each.. and gradually gradually this guy came into my life and asked me for marriage. Language was the biggest hurdle as I was a English-speaker and he is a French-speaker… but with time we spoke the same language, fell in love finally, engaged and got married in a Baptist church in presence of his parents and friends.. Life is wonderful, the moment I lost hope, God did miracles for me. I got my doctorate eventually, finance is a problem but I am working hard, really hard, so I am sure it will be sorted out too. Dear Admin, I am born as a hindu Brahmin. But I was never a practicing hindu. I mean I never touched alcohol or smoked or never had casual physical intimacies with anyone or even drugs just because it was my personal preference. I am mentioning it because we stay in a world of temptations where we are bound to slip out of our diginity and moral values anytime and anywhere.

In a phase of life, when I had nothing left to hold on, religion and my values were the only objectives I could hold on. I tried understanding Geeta scripts but by this time I already met soooo many fake hindus who claim to be practicing hindu either in our country or outside the country and Hinduism being very expensive (trust me). Hinduism is a expensive religion. I mean if I have no milk to drink myself how can make Lord Shiva or Lord Krishna drink it, similarly is with Ghee, flowers (**are you kidding me here one flower is for $10**) etc etc. I believe in Krishna Leela, but now in this phase of my Life I believe more in Bible mostly in this part of the world I understood certain differences which I would like to share. and This experience I have shared before starts from my age 22 and now when I am 32.

So here it goes: I am staying here in this part of the world for 5 years now. and I understood there are 2 categories of people. 1st category who loose their dignity and character because their religious inclinations is not strong. 2nd are the sect of people who has strong character may be because their religious inclinations is very very strong. By having a good character what I really mean is going by the book, let us take here an example of Bible English version. where they say in the new testament about sexual immorality in 1st Corinthains

1. You cannot advocate for sexual immorality which represents NO HOMOSEXUALS, NO LIVING RELATIONSships and NO Divorce, may be because I am a strong believer of this.

Since I am reading the Bible continuously I can understand it with the help of religious teachers, I never read Geeta may be they advocate the same. I believe that we must be God believers and I would suggest people that try to pray in a more proper way. You can seek things or relationships under God’s will. Sometimes we just have to accept whatever comes our way and sometimes it is very good and peaceful not to take the future in our hands. I mean you can plan your future withwhomsoever you want to be. God will find the right path for everyone.

I started believing that sometimes little mystery leads to magic …

P.S. I am completely a protestant now and a continuous bible reader.
