Hi,
Surah 3. Al-i’Imran, Ayah 64 says “O People of the Scripture. Come to an agreement between us and you: that we shall worship none but God, and that we shall ascribe no partners unto Him, and that none of us shall take others for lords beside God.”
And similar message is referred in
“na tasya pratima asti
“There is no image of Him.”
[Yajurveda 32:3]
“shudhama poapvidham”
“He is bodyless and pure.”
[Yajurveda 40:8]
“Andhatama pravishanti ye asambhuti mupaste”
“They enter darkness, those who worship the natural elements” (Air, Water, Fire, etc.). “They sink deeper in darkness, those who worship sambhuti.”
[Yajurveda 40:9]
“Lead us to the good path and remove the sin that makes us stray and wander.”
[Yajurveda 40:16]
Though I am a muslim but i still believe in the concepts of Brahmo samaj teachings which believe in the ideology of One God.
If we look in a broader sense instead of a conservative mindset. I feel that the teachings of these two branches i.e. Islam and Brahmo Samaj is almost the same. They teach an art of living. Islam is a very simple religion and does not involve too many rituals and that of Brahmo Samaj neither preaches anything different. They both go hand in hand. Muslims refer to the Great power as Allah and the followers of Brahmo Hindus as Brahma to which I conclude that the foundation of both these religions are the same.
The best reference I can give you from the Koran is –
Surat Al-Baqarah 2:256 – There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in worshipping materialistic things and believes in One true God has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And God is Hearing and Knowing.
In Hinduism, a person is free to choose whichever branch of Hinduism he wants to follow. So let’s believe in the common things preached by both the religion and maintain communal harmony.
By the way, right and wrong people are on both sides, so, never look at the people and make a perception. Read the scriptures, Our every question have an answer over there. And trust me, I have just listed a few common things among our religions. Just go the web and research, you will be speechless to see that there are so much in common among us.
Hope this helps you, my friend. -Zeeshan

Hi Admin,
Yes. She has chosen the faith by her own will and even the girls Hindu family and her in-laws both are happy and socialize very often.
The point I am trying to make is that the Hindu belief which I am talking about is where we believe that God is one and from the conversation with Swami Ramswarup in the above mentioned link indicates that there are common things in both the religions including the prophecy of Muhammed(pbuh) in the Hindu scriptures.
I feel that whether one reads shloks or surah’s the ideology of One God should remain common. Either way the teachings that children gets in schools are standard for all irrespective of ones faith. I studied moral science in school with Hindus, Sikhs, Christians etc and feel that if a school can take an initiative to teach children to learn commonalities in faiths then why can’t individuals follow the same things when they become an adult. Why should we discuss the differences when our faiths have several things in common?
I would suggest that instead of questioning about conversion we should discuss about following what is common. And talking about marriage, it is the constitutional right of every citizen under the Special Marriage Act to marry any individual regardless of their faith.
Another of my Hindu Maharashtrian friend married a Roman Catholic and both follow their respective faiths. My uncle married a Catholic and both follow their respective faiths, their children go to Church and Mosque too.
Surah Kafiroon says “Neither do I worship what you worship. Nor do you worship Whom I worship. And neither will I ever worship what you worship. Nor will you worship Whom I worship. For you is your religion, and for me is mine.”
It is up to humans to choose their own destiny because we are the only creatures on the face of this world who has got the gift of free will.

Zeeshan,
Thank for sharing your views. Do you believe Koran is 100% truth or you do not believe some of writings in the Koran?
Lets assume you are in love with a person from Brahmo Samaj. Would you ask that person to change religion to Islam before Islamic Nikaah, even both are same? In Shahadah, we understood that first part of one God oath, but why there is necessary the second part accepting about Muhammad? If that Brahmo Samaj guy is willing to convert to take Shahadah but do not wish to endorse Muhammad, is that okay? We wish to hear your views, thanks.
