Protestant-Hindu Troubled Love Relationship

ANUJA said: March 31, 2024

Hello,
I m a protestant girl and I have dated a hindu boy for 5 years and 3 months. In the beginning of our relationship my mother do knew about my relationship with him but my mother did not have any objection at that time so we continue our relationship.

His family have no objection for our marriage.

But suddenly in 2024 my mother is emotionally blackmailing me that if I marry him she will forget that she had a 3rd daughter also.

My family want him to convert in Christianity but I m ready to go and adopt his culture and religious things, but now as I told him that my mother is not allowing me to marry you so what I will do is I m ready to marry you because I Genuinely don’t have a connection with my mother since my father died.

But now he is telling me that his mother will not allow for this marriage because she want both family to be together. And from here I m very confused about what I will do …
please help me . -Anuja

    Dear Anuja,
This is difficult. Explain it to your mother that you two will follow Jesus but keet the church out of this marriage. When there is no conversion, there should not be an issue from the Hindu side. We hope your boyfriend is not looking for a way out of this relationship using his mother’s name. Can you go talk to his mother directly? Let us know what she says.
