We assume you are Malay. It is not possible for a Muslim girl to marry a Hindu in Malaysia. In Malaysia, they follow the Sharia laws and strictly enforce it 🙁 . However, if you are in Singapore and qualify there to marry, you are in luck 🙂 . Singapore, and most of the World (except certain Islamic countries), follows secular laws and Hindu and Muslims can marry. You could raise family and happily live there ever. However, issue may come if you decide to go back to Malaysia to live there. Please check with legal experts to make sure. Meantime read these Singapore laws…

SINGAPORE: Civil marriages
Civil marriages are for couples where one or both partners are non-Muslim.

The two parties have to register a date either at the Registry of Marriage (ROM) or on the ROM website. The chosen date will be at least 21 days after the date of registration and within 3 months of the date of registration. A marriage licence can only be issued on proof of a number of conditions (see below) by Statutory Declaration. Both parties must appear in person at the Registrar to declare that their intended marriage adheres to the following:

a) for couples where at least one party is not a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident, one of the parties to the intended marriage must have been physically present in Singapore for at least 15 days preceding the date of the notice, not including the day of arrival in Singapore;
b) each of the parties is 21 years of age or above, or if not, is divorced or is a widower or widow or has had his or her previous marriage declared null and void;
c) if either party is a minor who has not been previously married, the consent of the appropriate person mentioned in the Second Schedule (click here) must have been given in writing or consent of the High Court has been given;
d) neither party is below the age of 18 years (by the date of solemnization);
e) there is no lawful impediment to the marriage; and
f) neither of the parties to the intended marriage is married under any law, religion, custom or usage to any person other than the person with whom such marriage is proposed to be contracted.
g) where one of the parties to the proposed marriage has been previously married but is divorced, the party must also state whether he/she owes any arrears in respect of any maintenance which is payable under a maintenance order.

They must then bring their approval to a Licensed Solemniser, which can be religious leaders (order of the church, Buddhist, Taoist, Hindu, Sikh), Judge, Justice of Peace, and grassroots leaders.

    Mac,
    I doubt your genuineness, are you a goat-fucker jehadi as Osama,Saddam,Nawaz sharif etc. or an Islamic intellectual as the likes of APJ Abdul Kalam, Wafa Sultan, Tarek Fatah, Tasleem Nasreen who expose the baselessness of Islam and treat all religions as different paths to salvation.

    You can get a Hindu marriage in India – will be conducted by Arya Samaj but there are organisations in the US as well ISKCON, Hindus Monastery of Kaui etc.

    You will face a lot of resistance from Muslims but do whatever you think is right. If you think Hinduism is right for you follow those traditions, if you think Islam is right follow Islam. The beauty about Hinduism is that it is a secular philosophy and does not discriminate. Islamic principles state that if you are not Muslim you will go to hell….this is nothing but scaremongering tactics to get people to stay with or convert to Islam. Hinduism does not believe in coercing people to stay with….Hinduism states that there is no one way of attaining salvation. You can be of any religion….as long as you are a good person you will attain salvation. I don’t claim to know everything about every religion but do know a fair bit and this is my take.

    Hi Rafidah,
    What do you mean by “i want to marry like hindu culture”? Do you have concern of not marrying to a non-Muslim? Do you worry about the Judgment Day?
