Hindu Cannot Marry to Malaysian Muslim

A Hindu (or Christian, Buddhist) cannot marry to a Malaysian Muslim. Many such couples think of going out of Malaysia to marry. However, the later is a wrong strategy and will only create major problems later. Only three options these couples have: 1) move out of Malaysia for good, 2) terminate this love relationship or 3) the non-Muslim convert to Islam (0% Hindu, 100% Muslim). This is a dirty game being played by Malaysian Muslim majority government and is designed to expand Islam at the expense of others. A collection of relevant information is collected here.

The Malaysian Law Reform (Marriage and Divorce) Act 1976 does not apply to Muslims (section 3). Hence, in Malaysia there is no means for a Muslim to marry a non-Muslim under the civil law. In fact, the Muslim who goes through a marriage or even cohabits with a non Muslim runs the risk of falling foul of a number of offences under State Syariah criminal law prohibiting fornication (zina) and close proximity (khalwat).

I don’t have a lot of info but my Malaysian friends told me that even if a Malaysian citizen marries to a non Muslim without converying to Islam anywhere in the world then never update their marital status on their passports, if the authorities learn about the marriage the JAIS would have them arrested when they land in Malaysia and charge them with apostasy and insulting Islam. See the link, it would much easier if she could try to get a different citizenship from a liberal non-Muslim country. -Reema

Hi scc, would advice you to research the marriage laws of your bf’s country. A lot of non-Muslim countries allow for interfaith marriages without conversion. Most of the criteria is just filling up paperwork and be in the country for X days before the marriage. So, if the laws permit, just get married there and register your marriage there. But do note that you will not be able to register your marriage in Malaysia at all. This will have its own set of implications (e.g. both of you will not be able to settle in Malaysia, and if you have children, they might not qualify to be Malaysian, etc). Good luck and all the best!

Sharis Laws that all non-Muslims should know, Malaysia and UK laws, A Hindu cannot marry a Malaysian Muslim, Singapore marriage laws, Indian marriage laws, DON’T Fake-convert (focus on Malaysia laws), Koran on Hindus?, Islamic Nikaah without conversion is not possible, InterfaithShaadi does not recommend this: I am in Singapore and married to a Muslim without conversion,

Life without religion ..is life without life standards or values
Humanity is a religion of no religion….its standards change by time
unlimited and controlled free way of thinking crossing off all redlines is not a talent to be proud of
At the end it is a matter of faith or no faith
you are showing the topic that the life would be ended without marrying that muslim girl ..wheras male and female relations becomes very easy and open cz of open western way of life
