Hi there…
I am trying to help one of my Muslim friend who wants to marry a foreign christian lady. They both have agreed to remain strong to their respective faiths…so no conversion issue. The man wants a nikah (muslim ceremony) and the girl has agreed to it as she also wants to do it that way. However, its difficult finding an Imam (muslim prieat) in India who can consummate the marriage and can provide papers needed such as marriage certificate etc. Any help will be highly appreciated.

As per Islamic laws, he can marry a Christian. Since she is a person of “book”, she does not have to convert. However, does she agree to raising children only as Muslim, is she ready for that? Read Indian laws at https://www.interfaithshaadi.org/?p=981. If they want a legal papers, they can always marry by the Special Marriage Act and later find any imam, in India or abroad, to have nikaah to fulfil wishes of the boy.
Why Imam will not be ready to conduct such marriage? Have you talk to a few? Go reach out to some big Mosque or search on Google. Best wishes.
