i’m also in love with a muslim guy for last 10 years. we want to get married but our family is not at all supporting us with because of the fear of society. we want to go for court marriage via special marriage act but also want our parent’s blessings. please guide. -Sakshi

We recommend three things:
1) Do that your heart desires, and not to please others.
2) Do not assume that the Special Marriage Act 1954 will guarantee your immunity from pressure to convert to Islam. Read Akasha at https://www.interfaithshaadi.org/?p=7828,
3) Ten years of investment in this love should not mean you must marry him. If you find an issue with this relationship, a separation now is better than a talaak after marriage.
