Rashi,
You are in good place, first he is a Hindu (not Christian or Muslim) and his parents are open minded. Hindu Dharma and Jainism are both Dharmic faiths and many common values. Both are pluralist religions. We know many Hindu-Jain married couple and living very happy life, so why will you not?
To your question “I don’t want to change my surname can I?”, YES, there is no law dictating what should be your last name after marriage. As far as two sets of parents are okay, there is no issue here.
You said, “I want to follow jainism”, so why not? You should. Does it mean you are not going to go to a Hindu temple, not going to celebrate Krishna Janamasthani or not going to be a part of Satya Narayan Katha at your in-laws home? Are you saying you will do both, 30% or 70%, here and there? Or, like Muslims would say, 100% Jainism only and 0% Hinduism?
Your last question is “can I write Hindu-jain as cast after marriage”, YES, we don’t understand who will object to it. It is your own choice, you can write Buddhist or Sikh or Muslim. The faith is a person preference.
Did you talk to your Jain parents? What they have to say?
You just make sure you express your views/expectations to both sets of parents. Later, learn to give and take, and enjoy your Hindu-Jain Marriage with Equality. -Admin
