Hindu Asked Christian Convert for Marriage

Jeorge says: February 24, 2019

Hello
My name is Jeorge and I am a Christian and I have a Hindu girlfriend, we’ve been in a relationship for long time and we decided to get married but her mother forbids her to marry if only I converted to Hindu religion and have her surname…. But I cannot do that as I love Jesus Christ and I also agreed to have her surname but I can’t Convert… That’s the problem… What should I do? -Jeorge

    Hi Jorge,
Her mother is being very irrational asking you to convert and have her surname. Basically she is declining the relationship. What is response of your girl friend? Does she have any opinion/say? Best is to get married by the Special Marriage Act 1954 first and then any type of other marriages later. Tell us one point–after marriage where are you planning to live? Is that with your parents, her parents or on your own some new place?
