Christian: Hindu Gods Statue Scares Me

ANONYMOUS says: March 18, 2020 8:45 pm

See at the end of the day when kids come into picture you have to make a choice…. you can’t put your legs in 2 boats… I never understood it when my parents told me this and got married like you said to a Hindu but eventually his side of the family started pulling us towards Hinduism and that is completely not acceptable for me since I almost never stepped into the temple until it was for my husband…

Even today any Hindu Gods statue in my house scares me and I feel I have an idol in my house… My husband had to make many sacrifices to even make me feel comfortable and that includes not having such pictures… and specifically the rift amplifies after kids… So you will eventually tend towards one side or the other… there can be no middle ground.. so it’s up to you when you make your choice… with time or upfront.. -Ano

    Dear Ano,
It must be hard living such a life. We wish you listened to your parents and gave more thought to what they were warning you about.

We are wondering how did you got married? Have you had a Hindu wedding or it was a church wedding? Did your husband converted to Christianity for the church marriage? Did your husband got Hindu God photos or images in your home? Is he supporting to your concerns and helping you, we hope! Other than his religion, is he a good man and taking good care of you?

We are wondering if you also get scared when you go to a Catholic Church full of images? Tell us how those images of Mary, Jesus and apostles in churches are different than images used by Hindus?
